This total remodel by Smith & Sons transformed a dull and tired home into a modern, fresh, airy living space. The kitchen, bathroom, and living rooms were uplifted and re-imagined with stylish fittings, luxurious touches, and a cohesive flow that turned the owner’s dream home into a reality.
For the color palette, off-white is a neutral backdrop for the rest of the décor, allowing accent colors to stand out. The light earthy brown-gray floor tiles provide a natural feel, grounding the space and creating a warm and welcoming foundation. The texture of the tiles adds an interesting dimension, enhanced by carefully placed rugs.
Like most modern homes, the kitchen is the place for the family to meet, talk, and relax. The free-standing bench forms a subtle barrier between the formal lounge and the kitchen. The client chose a stunning quartz countertop in creamy-white, accented with delicate gray marble veins.
The large ceiling-to-floor windows allow light to flood in and offer a stunning view of the lush green gardens outside. For after-dark, there are ceiling-mounted spotlights and a fabulous modern glass-molecule pendant light.
The open-plan design draws your eye to the seamless transition between the kitchen and dining area where a modern black table and geometric black chairs add a minimalist touch of contemporary elegance to the space. On the opposite side of the dining area, a set of cozy chairs adorned with a white and grey chevron pattern create a welcoming atmosphere, perfect for unwinding after a long day.
The bathroom is a showcase of monochrome tones in a sophisticated choice of snow white and jet black. The client chose classic rectangular white tiles for the shower and bath splashback. As an eye-catching contrast, the bath and shower soap holders are designed as recessed areas, with tiles placed in a classic herringbone design. The stylish glass-enclosed shower is the perfect wake-me-up morning experience, and the show-stopper luxurious black free-standing bathtub offers the ultimate pamper session.
Adorning the walls are impressive large modern works of abstract art that are a testament to the owner's love for beauty and self-expression.
On chilly winter evenings, the family snuggle up in the inviting alternate living room. This space is perfectly appointed with a huge buttery-leather chocolate brown couch, a rich dark wood coffee table, a ceiling-high tropical plant, and a luxuriant plush oriental rug, creating a dreamy space of warmth and comfort.
